Nikita Nymeros raved about the tuna teriyaki bowl, which is a testament to the chef's ability to blend comfort with authentic flavors, enhanced by a hint of kimchi spice.
The café is equally welcoming for families, with a charming kids' area that makes it a hit among visitors, as Miriam Oglesby shared. The presence of books and a play kitchen ensures a delightful experience for little ones while parents relax with a refreshing matcha latte made with rich Costa coffee beans.
While some customers have noted minor issues like indoor cleanliness—particularly during the bustling summer months—the overwhelmingly positive impressions of the staff and overall vibe cannot be overlooked. The friendly service, as highlighted by Nhi Pham, adds a personal touch that makes every visit enjoyable.
With its unique blend of Korean fare and cozy atmosphere, Café Hanjan is poised to become a beloved hangout in Berlin. “ It's a very cute and quiet cafe, ideal for buying and working with the laptop. The food and coffee are also very good. Strongly recommended. ”
“ (+) Food and drinks are good. Spacious cafe so we could work when it’s not crowded. Friendly service. (-) the indoor space is fully of flies flying around.. understandably it’s July but for a cafe some level of hygiene should be expected, especially when it’s indoor and we’re not even having strong smelling food.. ”
“ This Korean styled cafe really caught my attention and was a pleasant discovery among all the restaurants and cafes near Zoologischer Garten. They serve delicious breakfasts a la Korean style but also classics to pleasy everyone’s taste. I tried the tuna teriyaki bowl and I must say the way it is served and its taste really impressed me. It had all the flavors I like from Korean food, with its slight touch of kimchi spice. A great addition was the matcha iced latte which was not bitter and had no big chunks of matcha powder. I can truly recommend this place! Although the atmosphere could be improved (at least inside), the places outside are a pleasure during summer. Would happily come back! ”
“ super chill atmosphere, came with the family, matcha was great and egg drop was a nice treat!! wish they had coconut milk otherwise ”
“ My matcha latte was delicious, great quantity of matcha; I had it with oat drink! Super friendly staff, we felt very welcome and comfortable. Kids area at the back looks so cute: books, play kitchen, and much more. We will be back. See you soon! The food looks incredible and I cannot wait to try the Korean shaved ice For coffee drinkers - Costa coffee beans! Yum. ”
“ I’ve walked by this place many times and finally decided to try it out. I ordered the Baby Drop sandwich and it was really yummy. The bread, super fresh and lightly toasted. The only thing I wish I knew was how much mayo was in this thing. It was super messy and the mayo was too excessive. Next time I would definitely remember to mention to go easy on the mayo. Service was friendly and the sandwich was reasonably priced for what it was. ”
“ Love this place! Its new and really cozy. Perfect for a rainy day! Nice strawberry matcha! The egg drop is fantastic! I didn’t like them until i had this one! Avocado egg drop sandwich! I also had the avocado wasabi bowl. Its perfect when i need a healthy but tasty meal. Staff also welcoming, which is rare in Berlin. ”
